Welcome to Workonnect Africa ("Workonnect", "we", "us", or "our").
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Workonnect website, platform, applications, recruitment technology, AI-powered matching services, verification services, communication tools, and related products and services (collectively, the "Platform").
By accessing, registering for, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
If you are using Workonnect on behalf of a company, organisation, institution, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Workonnect is an AI-powered recruitment and talent platform designed to connect job seekers, employers, recruiters, and other workforce stakeholders.
Workonnect is a technology platform. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Workonnect is not the employer of job seekers who use the Platform and does not guarantee employment, recruitment, hiring, or a particular employment outcome.
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Platform. By using Workonnect, you confirm that:

Certain features require you to create a Workonnect account. You agree to:
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Workonnect will not be responsible for losses resulting from your failure to keep your credentials secure, except where such loss results from Workonnect's negligence or failure to maintain appropriate security measures.
If you use Workonnect as a job seeker, you may create a professional profile and receive job recommendations based on information you provide and information generated through your interaction with the Platform. You agree that:
Workonnect does not guarantee that you will receive interviews, job offers, employment, or a particular salary.
Employers and recruiters may use Workonnect to advertise vacancies, identify candidates, access talent profiles, communicate with candidates, and use other recruitment services offered through the Platform. Employers and recruiters agree to:
Workonnect may remove job postings, restrict employer accounts, or suspend services where we reasonably believe that an employer or recruiter has violated these Terms or applicable law.
Employers are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of their job postings. Workonnect does not guarantee the accuracy of information supplied by employers or candidates. We may review, moderate, reject, edit, restrict, or remove job postings where we reasonably believe that they violate these Terms, violate applicable law, are misleading or fraudulent, contain discriminatory requirements, are unrelated to genuine employment opportunities, attempt to obtain money or sensitive information fraudulently, contain malicious software or harmful links, or otherwise create a risk to Workonnect users or the Platform.
Workonnect may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, automated decision-support tools, algorithms, and related technologies to assist with job recommendations, candidate recommendations, skills matching, profile analysis, ranking or prioritisation, talent discovery, recruitment workflows, and other workforce-related services. AI-generated recommendations are intended to support recruitment and career decisions and should not be treated as an absolute determination of suitability, employability, competence, or hiring outcome. Employers remain responsible for making their own hiring decisions and conducting appropriate human review. Job seekers remain responsible for evaluating employment opportunities and making their own career decisions.
Where Workonnect offers identity, education, employment, skills, professional, or other verification services, verification results may depend on information obtained from third parties, public sources, institutions, employers, or information supplied by users. A verification status does not constitute an absolute guarantee that all information relating to an individual is complete or accurate. Workonnect may require additional documentation or information to complete a verification process. We reserve the right to suspend or restrict accounts where submitted information appears fraudulent, materially inaccurate, or unverifiable.
The Platform may allow users to communicate with employers, recruiters, candidates, partners, or Workonnect. You agree not to use these communication channels to harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse another person; send spam; distribute fraudulent offers; request inappropriate payments; share unlawful or harmful content; collect personal information for unauthorised purposes; circumvent Workonnect's security or commercial processes; or engage in conduct that violates applicable law. Workonnect may take reasonable measures to investigate reported abuse and protect users and the Platform.
Certain Workonnect services may require payment. Where applicable, pricing, billing frequency, applicable taxes, subscription terms, and available features will be displayed before payment. By purchasing a paid service, you authorise Workonnect or its authorised payment provider to process the applicable payment. Unless otherwise stated: fees are payable in advance; subscription services may automatically renew where automatic renewal is enabled; you are responsible for applicable taxes and charges; promotional pricing may be subject to additional terms; and Workonnect may change pricing with reasonable notice. Where a subscription is cancelled, access to paid features may continue until the end of the applicable paid period unless otherwise stated. Refund eligibility will be determined in accordance with the applicable refund policy communicated at the time of purchase.
Workonnect may offer free plans, trials, promotional access, or limited features. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue free plans or trials at any time. Where a free plan or trial is converted into a paid subscription, the applicable pricing and subscription terms will be communicated before payment is charged.
You may submit information, documents, CVs, photographs, professional profiles, job descriptions, reviews, messages, applications, and other content ("User Content") to the Platform. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Workonnect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, display, transmit, and use that content to provide and operate the Platform; deliver matching and recruitment services; verify information where applicable; improve Platform functionality; provide analytics and service reporting; maintain security and prevent fraud; and develop and improve our services, subject to applicable privacy and data protection laws.
Workonnect collects and processes personal information in connection with the operation of the Platform. Our processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that Workonnect may process your information for legitimate purposes including account creation and management, job and candidate matching, recruitment services, verification, communications, security and fraud prevention, service improvement, analytics, compliance with legal obligations, and other purposes disclosed in our Privacy Policy.
The Platform may contain links, integrations, payment services, recruitment tools, communication services, or other functionality provided by third parties. Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Workonnect is not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.
The Workonnect Platform, including its software, interface, design, branding, logos, trademarks, graphics, text, databases, technology, and other proprietary materials, is owned by or licensed to Workonnect and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy or reproduce the Platform; reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code; modify or create derivative works; scrape or systematically extract Platform data; sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Platform functionality; use Workonnect trademarks without permission; or circumvent technical restrictions or security measures. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Workonnect's intellectual property to you.
You must not use Workonnect to commit fraud or facilitate fraudulent activity; impersonate another person or organisation; publish fake employment opportunities; request unlawful payments from job seekers; discriminate unlawfully against candidates; harass or abuse another user; upload malicious software; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform; scrape or harvest user information without authorisation; interfere with Platform operations; circumvent subscription or payment mechanisms; upload unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing material; use the Platform for unauthorised marketing or spam; manipulate matching, ranking, reviews, or Platform metrics; create multiple fraudulent accounts; use automated systems to access the Platform without permission; or engage in any activity that violates applicable law.
We aim to maintain reliable access to Workonnect but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Platform may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, security incidents, technical failures, third-party service interruptions, network failures, force majeure events, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or service where reasonably necessary.
Workonnect takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the Platform and information processed through it. However, no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You acknowledge that internet transmission carries inherent risks and agree to notify us promptly if you become aware of suspected unauthorised access to your account.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Workonnect provides the Platform on an "as available" and "as is" basis. We do not guarantee that every job posting is genuine; every candidate profile is accurate; every employer is suitable or trustworthy; AI recommendations will always be accurate; a user will obtain employment; a recruiter will successfully fill a vacancy; the Platform will always be available; information provided by third parties is complete or accurate; or the Platform will meet every user's individual requirements. Users are responsible for exercising reasonable judgment when engaging with other users and making employment or recruitment decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Workonnect will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the Platform. This may include loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, employment opportunities, data, goodwill, or expected savings. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Workonnect, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and representatives from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Platform, your User Content, your violation of another person's rights, your fraudulent or misleading activity, or your violation of applicable laws or regulations.
You may stop using Workonnect at any time and may request account closure in accordance with our applicable procedures. Workonnect may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account where we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, provided materially false information, your account presents a security or fraud risk, your conduct threatens other users, you have violated applicable law, payment obligations remain outstanding, or suspension is otherwise reasonably necessary to protect the Platform or its users. Where appropriate and convenient, Workonnect may provide notice and an opportunity to address the relevant issue. Termination does not affect rights or obligations that accrued before termination.
We encourage users to contact Workonnect first to resolve complaints or disputes informally. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties may pursue applicable dispute-resolution mechanisms available under Nigerian law, including mediation or other appropriate alternative dispute resolution processes before commencing litigation, where legally permissible. Nothing in this section prevents a party from seeking urgent or legally necessary relief from a competent court.
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to applicable mandatory laws and regulations. Where legally applicable, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nigeria.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology, legal or regulatory requirements, business operations, or security practices. When material changes are made, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. The updated Terms will become effective on the stated effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Workonnect Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and Workonnect regarding your use of the Platform. Additional terms may apply to specific products, services, promotions, enterprise arrangements, or partnerships. Where additional terms conflict with these Terms, the specific additional terms will govern the relevant service to the extent of the conflict.
